Anthony Ryan’s Best Dressed Lady Wins Prize Worth €12000
Ballybrit, Galway, Thursday 29th July 2010: The winner of the Anthony Ryan’s Best Dressed Lady Competition on Ladies Day at the Galway Races was Annmarie O’Leary from Camp in Co. Kerry
.
Ms. O’Leary who celebrates her 40th birthday today wore a vintage style ivory fitted dress with shoulder bow details by Karen Moriarty. Her hat was designed by Carol Kennelly, Milliner from Co. Kerry and is an antique sequinned vintage inspired hat in bronze gold with chrysanthemums blooms.
Sporting a black ring layered hat with red rose detail purchased by her sister in New York, Galway native Aoife Ryan was the winner of the Anthony Ryan’s Best Hat Competition.
Mr. Anthony Ryan, Managing Director of Anthony Ryan Ltd who are this year celebrating 101 years in business was on hand in the Parade Ring to present Best Dressed Lady AnnMarie O’ Leary with a magnificent prize of a one carat diamond solitaire pendant valued at €8,500, a shopping spree worth €1500 in Anthony Ryans, Galway and €1000 cash. She also received a corporate hospitality package for Galway Races October Bank Holiday Racing Festival and a Lancôme Presentation Gift Hamper worth over €500.
The winner of the ‘Best Hat’ Competition Aoife Ryan was presented with her prize of fashion shopping spree worth €1500 in Anthony Ryan’s Galway Mr. Ryan and his mother, Mrs. Breda Ryan.
All 40 finalists in the Best Dressed Competition at the Anthony Ryan Marquee received a special collection of Lancôme cosmetics compliments of University Pharmacy, Galway.
Judging this year’s competition were three of the best known names in the Irish fashion industry –Bairbre Power, Fashion Editor of the Irish Independent and Executive Editor of the Irish Independent Weekend magazine, model and Xposé presenter Glenda Gilson and PJ Gibbons, Editor, Social and Personal Magazine.
They were joined by well known faces from the Galway fashion scene Patricia McCrossan, Managing Director, Galway NOW, Mandy Maher, Catwalk Model Agency and Fiona Durkin, Fashion Consultant with Anthony Ryan Ltd.
The judges were on the look out for a Best Dressed Lady with an innate sense of style who could put together a winning ensemble, appropriate to both the wearer and the occasion.
“Our judges had an unenviable task picking a winner from so many very stylish ladies and I would like to congratulate the winners of the Best Dressed Lady and Best Hat Competitions for their outstanding sense of style and elegance,” said Anthony Ryan, Managing Director of Anthony Ryan’s Ltd.
“I would also like to commend our 40 finalists who added so much to the occasion with their colourful ensembles and complimenting accessories. Ladies Day in Ballybrit continues to be first past the post as the most stylish and glamorous fashion event on the Irish racing calendar,” he concluded.
